Sous Chef

Are you a Sous Chef looking to work in a fun and exciting environment? An opportunity has arisen to work at Bingham’s popular bar & bistro – ‘Number Sixteen’.

Number Sixteen is an independent café, bistro, wine & cocktail bar. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent food with exceptional service, having received a 5-star food hygiene rating. Our food is locally sourced, modern, and adaptable, with the ability to suit all tastes. Our chefs take pride in every dish and work to exceptional standards. The décor is unique and inspired by the owners who are the driving force behind the company’s strong values.

Here at Number Sixteen we have a great team ethos, we also enjoy the occasional social activity away from the working environment. The business benefits from several 5 star reviews and has a loyal and wonderful customer base.

As a Sous Chef you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in ensuring consistency in delivering all aspects of our popular menu. You will cover the Head Chef on their days off. You will support the team to achieve targets for both GP and service. You will ensure the kitchen remains compliant and adhere to the strict standards required.

Ideal candidate will:

Be a team player
Passion for cooking and exceptional attention to detail
Have previous experience as a Sous Chef
Have the ability to work under pressure
Have an understanding of Food Safety
Have excellent communication skills
Be self-motivated

What is in it for you?

£8.00 – £10.00 per hour depending on experience
45 hours per week, made up of straights and split shifts including evenings and weekends. Maximum 3 evenings per week.

Chef de partie

As a Chef de Partie you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in ensuring consistency in delivering all aspects of our popular menu. You will help with prep and be in charge of your own section during service. You will assist the Head Chef with developing new dishes. You will ensure the kitchen remains compliant and adhere to the strict standards required.
